Übersicht

This role will be based in Europe (preferred: Germany or UK) and will lead the launch and development of hydrogen and electrolyzer product lines, including integrated Balance of Plant (BoP) systems, tailored for the European and UK markets. The successful candidate will ensure products meet all applicable codes and regulations (e.g., PED, ATEX, CE, UKCA), support customer and sales engagement, and work closely with cross-functional teams to execute commercialization and growth strategies.

 

The individual entrusted with holding this position will be responsible for managing their portfolio, which includes hydrogen systems, the Electrolyzer product line, and Energy Infrastructure projects (i.e., industrial, power generation, transportation etc.) for the Nikkiso Energy Infrastructure and Strategic Projects (NESP) Functional Unit. You will be directly responsible for identifying, developing, and monitoring business and market strategy. This role will collaborate with various departments within the business and specifically partner with business development, sales, and engineering teams —including the core engineering team based in the United States—to develop new products or enhance existing products for current and new markets.

  • Own and manage product lines to maintain market share, revenue, and profitability.
  • Monitor global and European opportunities and demand for hydrogen-related products.
  • Lead product launches in Europe, ensuring alignment with market entry strategies and commercial roll-out plans.
  • Ensure product compliance with relevant European and UK regulations such as PED, ATEX, CE/UKCA marking, ISO 22734, and local hydrogen safety standards.
  • Track daily sales and market performance by region.
  • Maintain knowledge of product technical features and benefits.
  • Analyze competitors, market segments, and drivers to develop strategic market approaches.
  • Understand product features versus competitors (power density, lifecycle, efficiencies).
  • Maintain knowledge of regional pricing and consolidated profitability per product/model.
  • Provide support and information to proposal engineers.
  • Ensure integration of products within the broader Nikkiso CEIG portfolio.
  • Understand product use and applications from generation to consumption.
  • Support customer pre-FEED and FEED stages in collaboration with project developers and EPC partners; navigate European grant and subsidy mechanisms where applicable.
  • Provide training packages for salespeople and customers.
  • Develop and support product marketing literature and branding.
  • Support promotion, marketing campaigns, and training activities.
  • Drive standardization and economies of scale across the portfolio.
  • Capture local needs and differentiate via optional features.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to support Europe-specific campaigns and customer engagement.
  • Once business cases are approved, lead development teams (R&D, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Aftermarket Services) and monitor market conditions affecting the business case.

  • Electrolyzer Units (Stacks plus Balance of Stacks)
  • Electrolyzer complete system (Balance of Plant)
  • Hydrogen Systems (integration with Refueling Stations, Liquefiers etc.)
  • Hydrogen Alternative Systems (Ammonia, e-Fuels, SAF)

Qualifikationen

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of industry experience.
  • Experience in both sales and operations preferred.
  • Proven expertise in relationship management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record in sales development and/or key account management.
  • Experience developing business plans and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with European hydrogen market trends, regulations, and stakeholder landscape.
  • Experience engaging with public-private initiatives and EU hydrogen programs—such as the EU Hydrogen Strategy, REPowerEU, IPCEI, and the EU Innovation Fund—as well as regulatory frameworks (e.g., RED, IED, HAR), and collaboration with EPCs or utilities in the hydrogen sector is strongly preferred.
  • Experience driving improvements in cost, quality, and profitability.
  • Experience with CRM (e.g., Salesforce), ERP, or product lifecycle management tools is a plus.
  • Fluency in English required; additional European languages (e.g., German, French, Spanish) are a plus.
